As our primary growth engine, our core business includes the investment management, management consultancy and advisory we have traditionally provided to our clients. We have taken significant steps to renew and refresh our core business, and it is now as vibrant as ever, making it a powerful differentiator in the marketplace.
In new initiatives and businesses, we are investing in assets that essentially wrap around our core business and have the potential to become billion-dollar businesses for us. Finally, we will drive growth through geographic expansion. Strategic growth markets such as the China, Indonesia and India, will be our initial focus, with untapped geographies to follow. This is about introducing Fair Havens to a whole new set of clients and investors in a whole new set of markets, as well as providing consistent service wherever we operate.
Risk Management Policy
Risk is an integral part of our businesses. Management of that risk is therefore critical. Strong independent prudential management has been a key to our success over many years. Where risk is assumed, it is within a calculated and controlled framework. Our risk management principles are:
Independence
Our risk management team is independent, reporting directly to the Managing Director and the Board. Risk management is required for all material risk acceptance decisions. It identifies, quantifies and assesses all risks and sets prudential limits.
Centralized Prudent Management
The responsibility of risk management team covers the whole of Fair Havens, meaning it can assess risks from a wide perspective and ensure a consistent approach across all areas.
Strict Approval from Risk Management
Our investment team cannot undertake new Investment or activities, without risk management team’s approval.
Continuous Assessment
Risk management team continually reviews changes in risks brought about by both external developments and internal circumstances.
Frequent Monitoring
Centralised systems allow risk management team to monitor credit and market risks daily. Risk management staff liaise closely with investment team to ensure that, should any limit breaches occur, they are immediately addressed, and escalated as necessary.
